Therapy for Caregivers & Parent Coaching
Parenting can be deeply rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming when a child is struggling with anxiety, behavioral challenges, emotional outbursts, school difficulties, OCD, or other mental health concerns. Sometimes the most effective way to help a child is by supporting the adults who care for them.
As a psychologist, I use evidence-based parent coaching approaches. We'll start by developing a clear understanding of your child's strengths, challenges, and the patterns that may be contributing to ongoing difficulties. Together, we'll identify goals, learn practical strategies, and create a plan for making meaningful changes at home.
Parent coaching is highly action-oriented. Between sessions, you'll have opportunities to practice new skills and observe what works best for your family. We'll take a collaborative approach, making adjustments along the way and focusing on small, manageable changes that add up over time.
Depending on your family's needs, we may focus on reducing challenging behaviors, improving emotional regulation, increasing cooperation, responding effectively to anxiety or OCD, strengthening parent-child relationships, establishing routines, or decreasing family conflict. The goal is not to become a "perfect" parent, but to feel more confident, effective, and connected in your role.
Many families notice meaningful improvements within 12-20 sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. My hope is that you leave parent coaching with a practical toolkit of strategies you can continue using long after our work together ends, helping your child and family navigate future challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
